The Search for an OIR Licensed Insurer Page

  1. The Search for an OIR Licensed Insurer page allows you to search DFS's database for a licensed insurer to use for your closed claim or aggregate report. First, select whether the search should be Anywhere, Starts With or Exact Match.

  • Anywhere - Selecting this search parameter will enable a search on any information entered into the field. For example, you could type a few digits of an NAIC company code, a few letters from part of a company name, etc. and the search would return all data relevant to whatever information you typed into the field.

  • Starts With - Selecting this search parameter will enable a search based on the beginning of a field's text. For example, you could type "All" and "Allstate" would be one of the companies returned in the search results, or "36418" and all FEINs beginning with those numbers would appear in the search results.

  • Exact Match - This search parameter is the most specific. The search will look for the exact information you enter into the search field. If the search criteria does not match the exact information you enter into the field, no results will be returned. For example, if you searched on "Allstate", no results would be returned. You must know the complete name of the company (e.g., Allstate Floridian Indemnity Payment made on behalf of insured to a plaintiff for damages. Company) if you choose to use exact match.

  1. Fill in the following fields as appropriate to help refine your search:

FEIN

NAIC Company Code
