Restrictions:
|
Counties which do not have operational weight scales at solid waste disposal facilities operated by or for the counties must purchase or require purchase of such scales or repair or require repair of inoperable scales prior to using the annual grant for any other authorized uses.
Other authorized uses include annual solid waste management program operating costs; planning, construction and maintenance of solid waste management facilities or recycling facilities; solid waste management education for employees or the public; or recycling demonstration projects; litter prevention and control; and recyling and education.

Pre-Application Notice:

The Department provides each eligible county with application Form 62-716.500(2) by July l of each year.

Application Procedures:
|
Prospective applicants must submit a completed application for approval by August 1 each year.
|

Award Procedures:
|
Department awards grants by October 1 to counties with approved applications.
|
|
Deadlines:
|
The deadline for submission of applications is August 1.
|

Applications are accepted from counties with a population under 110,000.
