Objectives:
|
To meet the educational and informational needs of state residents by encouraging and assuring cooperation among libraries of all types for the development of library services; to foster cooperative programs to meet the needs of state residents which cannot be met independently by local libraries; to build upon the strength of local libraries and to augment their resources with regional and statewide services; to maintain local autonomy and to make cooperation in regional or statewide activities voluntary; and to recognize programs of cooperation undertaken by libraries and provide for state financial assistance to encourage library cooperative development.

Restrictions:
|
Funding is limited to nonprofit cooperatives consisting of two or more libraries under separate governance and of more than one type, including any combination of academic, school, special, state institution, and public libraries. Cooperatives provide a 10 percent cash match.

Application Procedures:
|
Applicants may obtain a copy of the "Guidelines and Application Packet" from the INFORMATION CONTACT or at the web address listed below. Applications must be submitted online.
|

Award Procedures:
|
Applications are reviewed for eligibility and completeness. Applicants with deficient applications are given 30 days to complete and correct deficiencies. When all eligible applications are determined by the Division to be sufficient and complete, the Division will calculate grant award amounts based on the appropriation of funds from the Legislature. Grant funds will be distributed in five payments. All payments will be requested based on the provision of specified deliverables.
