Objectives:
|
The services to be provided at The NISSI Project's short-term, immediate care facility are as follows:
The facility will provide a short-term residential safe place for survivors exiting their trafficking experience up to seven days. For those going through detox the residential services can extend to 14 days. When they are admitted to The NISSI Project they will receive immediate medical evaluations and care. Following the medical and intake process they will receive a fresh start bag and their own room to be able to shower, rest, and have some moments of solace. They will then be met with a case manager in the respite room where their advocacy options will be presented to them based on their individual needs and the available resources. The survivor will have time to review and select options.
During this time they will have access to licensed therapists and counselors in the therapy room should they need it. They will also have access to some recreational opportunities within the home. They have up to day seven to decide, with the goal of moving them to a long term restoration program as soon as possible. If they choose to go, we will provide them with the necessary items (bedding, clothes, luggage, etc) and we will transport them to that option. If they choose not to go or take a step towards freedom, our case manager will follow up with them and attempt to provide transitional services for them by meeting and serving them where they are at. If the survivor chooses at any point to seek services towards freedom from NISSI we will pick back up where we left off in the process with them.
