WHM manages lands within the Wildlife Management Area system, and plans acquisition and long-term goals for each property. WMAs are managed by staff in the 5 regions with support from work units located in Tallahassee. Work groups in Tallahassee oversee the acquisition of lands, easements and the review and development of area management plans. The Habitat Assessment and Restoration Program includes Objective Based Vegetation Management and Wildlife Conservation Prioritization and Recovery, programs that assist WMA biologists in setting area-specific goals for vegetation and wildlife.
