To provide financial assistance to counties and special districts in conducting mosquito control related activities.

Restrictions:
|
Every county or special district is limited to receive up to $120,000 of state funds during any one year. However, a county or district that receives funds for service to an area not previously served may receive up to $50,000 during any one year.

Procedures:
|
Follow guidelines established in Chapter 388, F.S. and Rule, Chapter 5E-13, F.A.C.
|

Pre-Application Notice:
|
Prerequisites
1) Establish a governing board (s. 388.101, F.S.); 2) Board must employ a county/district qualified director (Rule 5E-13.032, F.A.C.); and 3) Director and personnel must meet the criteria for licensure or certification of applicators (Rules 5E-13.040-41, F.A.C.).

Application Procedures:
|
Counties and districts must file with the Department an "Operational Work Plan For Mosquito Control" and a "Detailed Work Plan Budget - Arthropod Control". Following approval of these documents by the Department, two copies of the "Annual Certified Budget For Arthropod Control" are to be completed and submitted to the Department. Applicants may obtain copies of prescribed forms for work plans and budgets from the INFORMATION CONTACT listed below.

Award Procedures:
|
Upon submission of the "Annual Certified Budget For Arthropod Control," State funds are available to the county or special district by and through the Department immediately upon release of funds.
|
|
Deadlines:
|
Operational Work Plan For Mosquito Control and Detailed Work Plan Budget - Arthropod Control - July 15; Annual Certified Budget for Arthropod Control - September 30; and Monthly Financials and Activity reports - due by the 30th day of the month following the quarter.
