Objectives:
|
Through the Bigs in Blue program, BBBSAF and member BBBS agencies partner with law enforcement agencies and first responders to build positive relationships with local communities. Each month, youth meet with a volunteer mentor who is a law enforcement officer or first responder engaging in social activities. The meetings may occur in the community or at sites such as schools, community centers or in the workplace. The Bigs in Blue program serves a majority of youth in the African American and Hispanic communities and has the benefit of helping youth attain their potential while strengthening trust between law enforcement and the community.
